Energy policy can help or hinder economic, foreign, health and climate objectives. Sensible energy policies improve europe’s competitiveness and support higher employment; bad policies do the reverse.


A reduction in dependence on energy imports would have benefits for the european economy and for the foreign policy of the EU.


Public health would be greatly improved by reducing toxic pollution from power stations. And nearly 80 per cent of europe’s greenhouse gas emissions come from the energy sector.
